02 — Local Government

Local Government Scholarships

Offered by provincial and city governments such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi'an, Kunming, and others.

Eligibility

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet both scholarship and university admission requirements. Duke checks your eligibility before any application is submitted.

General Eligibility

  • Non-Chinese citizenship
  • Good physical and mental health
  • Meeting age requirements of the chosen program
  • Meeting academic requirements of the target university

Language Requirements

  • Chinese-taught programs: Required HSK level
  • English-taught programs: IELTS score report

Bachelor's Applicants

Applicants for bachelor's degrees must take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) and submit a valid score report alongside all other application materials.
