Thai Education Visa · Complete Guide
Enrolling in our 8-month or 14-month program will grant you the Non-Immigrant ED Visa. Everything you need to know from application to extensions in one place.
There are two ways to apply for your Non-Immigrant ED Visa: from within Bangkok or from your home country before you arrive. Choose the option that applies to you.
Applicants from some countries must provide a police clearance certificate and apply for the visa from their home country. Contact us to confirm whether this applies to your nationality before applying.
Your ED visa has been APPROVED, congratulations! Here is everything you need to understand about extensions, reporting, and re-entry permits.
Note: The ED visa for language schools is different from the ED visa for universities, so the conditions and extension rules may vary.
Once you receive your 90-Day Single Entry Non-Immigrant ED Visa from a Thai embassy or consulate and enter Thailand, you must visit our school with your passport within 7 days.
We are required to submit copies of your passport and ED visa to the Ministry of Education in preparation for your extension.
Once your first 90 days are close to ending, you will be required to extend your ED visa at Immigration on a regular basis.
Be prepared to be asked simple questions in Thai by the Immigration officer, such as "What is your name?", "Where are you from?", and "What do you like to eat?". If you have been attending lessons and doing your homework, these will be easy to answer.
Submit your 90-day report online if the website is working. The window is 15 to 7 days before your actual report date.
Visit any Immigration office. Window is 15 days before to 7 days after your report date.
Pay an agent to submit the report on your behalf. Convenient if you are unable to attend in person.
DO NOT throw away the receipt from your previous 90-day report. Keep it and submit it along with the TM.47 form when you file your next report.
Valid for one departure and return. Reverts to single-use after re-entry.
Allows multiple departures and returns for the duration of your current extension stamp.

Getting an approval letter from the Ministry of Education is the first part of the process. All applicants must complete our application form and send us a copy of their passport with 12 passport-sized photos. After full payment is made, these documents are submitted to the Ministry of Education.
Once your application is approved by the Ministry of Education, you have been granted permission to study Thai in Thailand. The next step is to get permission to stay by submitting the MOE approval letter to a Thai embassy, consulate, or immigration.
There is no refund if your application is rejected at this stage. Here are the reasons this may happen:
It is your responsibility to research before visiting a Thai embassy or consulate. Some are very strict while others are more lenient. The choice is yours to make, not ours.
Your application could be rejected due to a past criminal record, or if you've been blacklisted for previous offences like overstaying, border bouncing, applying for too many tourist visas, or working in Thailand illegally. No school can be responsible for your personal record.
If there is a conflict between Thailand and your home country, your chance of getting the education visa could be slim or near impossible. Check with the Thai embassy or consulate you plan to visit before making a commitment with our school.
